Why iThinkPets Added Doctors and a Licensed Pharmacist Before Launching Its Pharmacy

Online access has made pet care easier, but medicines raise a different set of concerns. Pet parents want to know who is overseeing prescriptions, whether products are genuine, and whether safety is being taken seriously.

When iThinkPets first launched, it did not sell medicines. The founders focused on routine pet products while listening closely to customer experiences.

Over time, pet parents began sharing concerns about veterinary medicines—availability, authenticity, and confusion during emergencies. These conversations prompted a careful decision.

Before introducing a pharmacy, the platform engaged veterinary doctors, appointed a qualified pharmacist, and obtained the necessary drug licence. The aim was to ensure that access to medicines was backed by professional and regulatory oversight.

Behind every pet healthcare decision is a family trying to do the right thing. That responsibility required medical expertise and proper licensing before we could even consider offering medicines,” the founders say.

By pairing access with professional supervision and clear information, the platform aims to reduce misuse and anxiety.

As pet parents become more informed, platforms that prioritise safety and transparency are earning deeper trust.
