Reading the cover

  • The two buildings: a safe, familiar path, and a path the man has to build himself.
  • The walking figure: the reader, standing at the point of choice.
  • The rising arrow: the climb that comes after the choice is made.
  • The line on top: “Success isn’t accident — it’s preparation and choice.”
  • The label at the bottom: “A Success Story”, because the book is the author’s own.

The choice behind the picture

At the launch, Ravi Kapoor told the audience that he comes from a middle-class family and started his own business in 1998, with no family business behind him. He chose the harder road, and he spoke about how he kept looking for gaps in the market. One of those gaps, a country full of gemstone buyers but no gemstone brand, led him to create Gemwix.

Is a job the wrong choice?

The book does not say that. Its point is that whatever you choose, you should choose it, rather than leave it to chance, and then prepare for it.

Why does the cover name a real brand? Because the story is real. Tushar Gems is the business Ravi Kapoor built.

Is the book only for people who want to start a business? No. It is for anyone at a crossroads, whether that is a career, a city or a dream.

About the launch

SUCCESS BY CHANCE OR CHOICE was launched on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Prerna Utsav 4.0, a one-day literature festival at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Qutub Institutional Area, New Delhi. The festival was organised by Prerna Darpan Sahityik evam Sanskritik Manch and Sahitya 24 Prakashan, in the presence of chief guest Ashok Kumar Singh, programme president Alka Sinha, special guest Prof. Dr. Meeta Sinha, keynote speaker Rishi Kumar Sharma, welcome president Dr. C. M. Bhagat and Sahitya 24 founder Hariprakash Pandey. The book is published by Sahitya 24 Prakashan and is available on Amazon and Amazon Kindle.
