Mumbai, 30 August 2026 — There is a particular kind of Indian technology leader whose work you do not see in headlines but whose architecture quietly runs the financial services industry — the person who designs the platforms, trains the engineers, and delivers the transformation programmes that keep global insurers and banks operating. Dr. Anand Fadte has been that person for more than two decades. On 30 August 2026, in Mumbai, he stepped into the light.
Cricket icon Sunil Gavaskar presented Dr. Fadte with the Time Cyber Media Award for AI Leadership and Innovation, recognising his work on avData and pieCRM — the two AI products at the heart of his current companies, Aviantos and PieStudy, where he serves as Chief Technology Officer.
A Career Built Continent by Continent
Dr. Fadte’s professional story runs through five continents. It began in Goa, where he earned an MCA and a BSc in Computer Science from Goa University, and moved into early technology roles at Honeywell and Reuters in Bengaluru. From there, he joined Accenture, working across the United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, Australia, and India — building an insurance business analysis practice that served The Hartford, QBE, RSA, Aegon, AG Insurance, and Travelers.
At Tieto (later TietoEVRY) in Finland, he founded and led an Insurance Centre of Excellence spanning the Nordic and global markets, owning a €100 million-plus P&L and leading a 350-person team. His work there won him Tieto’s Feather in the Cap award for innovative business solutions in 2017.
His pivot to AI came in stages. As Head of Data Science at Qorbital, a next-generation neo-banking platform, he built the AI-powered risk scoring, KYC, and transaction monitoring systems that gave the platform its edge. As CTO at MSM Unify in Canada, he architected an AI-enabled global study-abroad platform. And in 2024 he moved to Aviantos and PieStudy — where the products that would earn him the Time Cyber Media Award were being built.
The Products That Won the Award
avData is Aviantos’s AI-native document-intelligence platform, designed to help enterprises reason across unstructured content such as contracts, medical records, and policy documents. pieCRM is PieStudy’s agentic customer relationship management product, built around reasoning agents rather than traditional forms and workflows. Where a traditional CRM captures information for humans to act on, pieCRM observes, plans, and acts inside the CRM on behalf of the human user.
A Scholar’s Discipline
Alongside the industry work, Dr. Fadte has built an academic record unusual in enterprise software: a Doctorate in Business Administration (Artificial Intelligence) from SSBM in Geneva, a Post-Graduate Program in AI and Machine Learning from IIIT Bangalore, an MBA in the insurance domain from ICFAI, and a research paper — “Data Extraction Approach for Aggregator Platform” — published at SSBM Geneva in 2024.
Dr. Anand Fadte has delivered keynotes, panel discussions, AI leadership talks, and Faculty Development Programmes across leading academic and corporate institutions, including Dhempe College Goa, JK Group, DY Patil University, Goa University, and G. H. Raisoni. He has also led AI Transformation and consulting engagements for organisations including Amdocs, StudyCulture, GenExcellence, and Webnotics, focusing on Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI Leadership, and business transformation.
Community Work
Outside the office, Dr. Fadte has delivered Generative AI training for medical professionals, enabled AI adoption in schools through educator training with the Bhavika Foundation, mentored more than 1000 professionals, and supports Special Olympics. He is a 40-plus time honoree of Toastmasters International, holding the Advanced Communication Gold and Advanced Leadership Bronze designations.
